LG counter-depth refrigerators are slim and offer a lot of space. This LG refrigerator was a standout during our tests. It has ample space to serve a family, but we did notice a few irritating flaws. First the freezer drawers don't stay as cold as we'd like. The middle drawer sat at 41 degrees during our highest usage test, which is warm enough to serve ice cream and other frozen items. The temperature of the rest of the freezer was about 36 degrees.
Another issue is that the refrigerator doors have handles that are sunken on the inside and underneath which makes it difficult for shorter people to comfortably move them closed. It may seem like a minor issue however we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators because they're simpler to open and close.
This fridge is expensive however it is worth it for anyone looking to have an elegant appearance in their kitchen. We recommend this fridge to those looking to upgrade their existing fridge or are building a new house and want a more integrated style for their kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Samsung's newest counter-depth French door fridge called the RF23M8090SG is priced at $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also does well in our cooling tests, although we're not fans of its gimmicky polygon handles and the bins that are crisper feel a little flimsy.
One thing that distinguishes the RF23M8090SG apart is the Bespoke line, which lets you customize your fridge with removable colored panels which can be swapped when you're tired of the ones you have currently. There are 11 color options with pastels through more vibrant shades. There are four metallic finishes. Some of these panels can be customized with photos or text, making the fridge a more personal touch point that will match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
The LED lighting can be changed to a different color which is a nice option. The interior of the refrigerator features a smart finish which reduces the appearance of smudges and makes cleaning simpler. The only flaws that really bother the RF23M8090SG are its cramped beverage center, and it takes some effort to open the door-indoor feature which houses a water dispenser as well as the pitcher. You need to look for an opening on the underside of the door midway across, and when you've done that the lever, it opens an additional door inside the fridge, which houses the pitcher docking station as well as the water dispenser, and two shelves for drinks.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators are a great addition to any kitchen. They look neat and are suitable for all sizes of rooms. Counter-depth refrigerators are a great option for those who want this style but without the height. We've tried a variety of them, and this Frigidaire model has earned an above-average score in our ratings due to its low cost and thoughtful features, such as an adjustable temperature drawer.
It also has some irritating problems. Our test data indicates that the FGHB2866PF warms up quite some in the freezer, and can get uncomfortably warm on the refrigerator's outermost shelving. This is evident in our heat maps which show how internal temperatures vary from minute to minute. The butter bin in the orange section at the top right is especially warm during our test period. This might not appear to be a problem initially, but the fridge spends the majority of its time at 32 degrees.
It's also worth mentioning that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model. This could be a consideration for some buyers. But the real problem here is that it's just not a great fridge, and the absence of top-of-the-line features and a sturdy construction make it difficult to recommend it over better models at this price point.
This Frigidaire fridge is identical to the stainless steel model you might find in the local appliance store. It's a great choice, with a brushed-finish that looks nice and is resistant against streaks. However it's not able to distinguish itself from its competitors which are more feature-rich and cost less.
If you're looking for a counter-depth French-door fridge but don't want to spend a lot of money, the FGHC2331PF could be worth a look. It offers enough storage for most families, and it is able to keep food fresh. Even if it's not an energy-efficient model, it doesn't have the same price tag the same amount as our top-rated models do.
